Dear Truebies, I'm so sorry this review is a day late, and possibly a dollar short, but I have been enjoying camping this week. What can I say, that last scene from Full Moon inspired me to get in touch with my outdoorsie side. Finally home, tho, and caught up on the latest episode, and here's what stood out for me the most of this episode: these producers really like certain characters to repeat themselves throughout different seasons. (If you thought I was going to say something about Eric's *personality*, well, that comes later.) Cold Grey Light of Dawn gave us Sookie getting it on in the woods with Eric, which she also enjoyed with Bill in the first season. Then Tara is walking down a dark, lonely road at night, when she meets a creepy lady that will change her life-- no, not Marianne, Mantonia. Anyway, let's get down to brass tacks. Sookie and Eric left us drooling over their forest tryst in the last episode, and kept going right into this week! Damn, I knew Eric was hot! After being inducted into the Shreveport Pack, Alcide and Debbie take a walk around the forest to look for Sookie and make sure she's not in trouble. They come upon our randy couple, and Alcide is looking a bit... confursed. Why the long face, Alcide? You had your chance, wolf. Maybe next season? Anyway, Eric and Sookie take the business time, and spread it out over several settings, like the forest, the foyer rug, the bed, and the couch. I must say, last week, I was quite disappointed in these two. Guess this week made up for it, tho :)

How you like them apples, Bill?

Pam attacks Naomi and Tara outside Merlotte's, but has to stop when people are video-taping her actions  with their phones for mass media. Tara makes Naomi leave Bon Temps without her so that she won't be killed by Pam. Tara then starts walking down a dark and winding dirt road when she hears something in the woods. She thinks it's Pam, and just as I'm screaming at my tellie for Tara to get her ass out of that creepy setting, out comes Mantonia. They chit-chat, figure things out, and Tara all of a sudden is Mantonia's coven-closer. Tara recruits all sorts of people to help Mantonia cast the necromantic spell that will make all vampires walk into the sun. The coven grows to ten, they chant, then Mantonia hovers above the ground. Meanwhile, Jason is trying to get Jessica off his mind by doing upside down pushups. Lo' ha' mercy! He can't seem to shake the feeling that he wants to get to know Jess in a Biblical way, even though it's his best friend's girl. Oh Jay-jay, have you changed your m.o. from crazy to taken? I know it's Bon Temps, and pickins are slim, but it's your bff's girlfriend! Just on cue, Hoyt comes over, and they have a heart-to-heart about the fact that Jason was raped, and Hoyt doesn't want to lose Jessica. Eventually, Jason goes back to work, or at least dresses in that hot uniform (what i wouldn't give to have him knock on my door,) but ends up running to Bill's house because he registers Jessica's feelings through their blood bond.

As the chanting continues, all local vampires who have stayed in the vicinity, which I guess only includes Bill, Jessica, Eric, and Pam, begin to fight with the silver they are draped in, trying to get to the sun. Eric is in his cubbie with Sookie, growling and bleeding all over the place, but Sook is determined to save Eric, which should lead to major drama for your mama! JK, IDK.  Pam isn't having the best of seasons, since earlier in the ep, she looks part of the Bodies Exhibit, then, she's draped in a silver mesh sheet while locked into her pink velvet-topped coffin. Did I mention you need to see this Ginger GIF of one of the best scenes in this entire ep?

Jessica, being stronger than she knows, even though she's a baby vamp, pulls off the silver chains, gets the keys from the guard, who is obvy trained for this sort of trick, and gets out of the prison cell. Unfortunately, she doesn't take Bill with her; I guess she wants to sun all to herself. Last we see of Jessica, she is opening the doors to Bill's mansion, allowing sunlight to come in. Who thought of this scene as Jason's hauling ass across the lawn, and Jessica is getting ready to open the doors? Bahhhh, but no, Jason gets taken down by one of Bill's goons as he closes in on the mansion. Will he make it to the door in time to save Jessica from bursting into flames? Tune in next Sunday, same vamp time, same vamp channel.

PS-- Andy Bellefleur kinda had a date that he ruined with Holly. I'm pretty sure nobody cares, but I thought I would try to be thorough.

Loved the Sookie and Eric scenes...especially the hawt sex scenes...could've done without the Debbie sex scenes *shudders*
I'm interested in where they take the witches story line...and I'm almost starting to like HP's aunt :) but very tired of all Tara's whining!
And I never did get Jesus and Lala's story line/trip to Mexico to visit crazy grandpa!?
But, overall enjoying this season :)

oh, the debbie sex/crying scene was so pathetic! i'm loving mantonia! she's reminding those vamps that they don't rule the world, so they better watch their backs! this season is so much better than last season!

Loved last episode-Pam is awesome in her flesh eating character, gruesome...Sookie and Eric are wonderful together, very touching, won't end well of course...like the way they go back in time to put light on the witches and quest for revenge...wonder where Mantonia is going to end up, drama...love Jessica, she will be saved of course.

I FINALLY caught up with the last 3 1/2 episodes of True Bood! Phew! This last ep was HOT with Sook & Eric! Dayam! Wonder how Stephen Moyer feels about watching those scenes? Eeks! I did feel sorry for Bill after he let Eric go and they showed Bill having a somber drink on the porch. Because he realized when Eric said he just wanted Sookie to be happy, Bill realized that if he truly loved her, he had to let her go too. Aww. I hope Jason or someone intervenes with Jessica walking into the sun! I like her! I agree, this season is way better than last season. Witches are easier to understand than all those other made up creatures TB comes up with! Looking forward to Sunday! Thanks for doing all these recaps, Bulletsucker! ;)
