Ok – so my daughter Courtney manages all the awesome music, pictures, videos and great blog postings for the fabulous
Pop Culture Junkie website.
(What can I say – she’s a mini-me!). As a big fan and member of Pop Culture Junkie, I enjoy reading the blog posts and staying up with what’s hot!!
Anyway I got a call Friday morning from Courtney asking me if I’d read her most recent blog post movie review of
New Moon – which she had just seen on Thursday night. I had not had a chance to read the post yet but told her as soon as we hung up
I WOULD!! (She’s so persistent – like her mom).
Before I started reading the New Moon blog post I had called one of Courtney’s best friends – Jenny,
my faux daughter – to plan a time this weekend to go see New Moon.
WELL .. by the time I had finished reading the review on Pop Culture Junkie, I immediately checked online to see when the next New Moon was playing and ordered a ticket for the 2:20 p.m. show. Wow! I don’t usually deviate from my work schedule on Friday’s to do something so spur of the moment like this –
but I was pretty excited and ready to go!
I now had 30 minutes to do my hair, touch up my makeup, walk the dog, and hit the road to the movies. As I was leaving my neighborhood I had 15 minutes till show time!! Wouldn’t you know that
EVERYONE had decided to take the afternoon off as the traffic was moving at a
“snails pace.” I drove the speed limit though, took a short cut, and got to the theater at 2:19pm – the movie was 2:20
(oh well, I knew there were previews!).
I got my popcorn and headed into the New Moon theater ready to get myself seated when
OMG I couldn’t believe all the teeny-boppers who were at the flick. Was school out today or
what??? Or were there just a lot of 12 – 15 year olds playing hooky?
NOTE - I did see a lot of mom’s there too so maybe it was a
“mom/daughter” thing. (Oh well not my problem-o!!). I was just glad I got a great seat and was there before New Moon began. Courtney had said the beginning of the show was great so don’t miss it.
And she was right! Once the movie started and Edward and Jacob came on the screen the place was full of
oohs and aahs from all the girls and probably some of the moms. The biggest screams came when Jacob took off his shirt to display a very
TONED and
AWESOME body. Both of these guys are
PRETTY HUNKY!
Hey, at my age I hate to call myself a Cougar …
I’m more like a Lioness! But when Jacob took off his shirt, even I had to catch my breath –
grrrr-aaarrrrgg! I imagined how my daughter Courtney would be reacting to these same scenes and it made me laugh!
OK I’m not going to give any of the movie away – but suffice it to say I’m seeing it again. When I got home Jenny called to see when we could go see New Moon and I had to confess
“I’d already seen it” but I would go again. We are now going to see New Moon on Monday at 4:00 p.m. -- with martinis and appetizers afterwards. Now isn’t that a perfect way to do a movie review???
Hope you guys enjoy the show!! Let me know what you think – and tell me who is the
HUNKIEST!!! (
If that’s a word) EDWARD or JACOB???
BTW Bella was pretty awesome too!! She seemed so grown up in this flic!
